Quantity Surveyor

Murcom are a progressive and rapidly growing mid-size main contractor based in Dunboyne, Co. Meath with projects across Meath, Kildare, Louth & Dublin. Due to continued expansion, we now require a Quantity Surveyor for a full-time role.

Job Description

  • Carry out all Quantity Surveyor duties including measurement, procurement, cost monitoring, cost control, reporting, preparation of interim payments and settlement of final accounts in a professional manner and timely manner.
  • Take-off quantities from drawings using estimating software.
  • Liaise with suppliers, send enquiries & collate quotes for various packages.
  • Responsible for all aspects of cost management on the project.
  • Preparing tender and contract documentation.
  • Managing all payments to subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with company systems and procedures.
  • Managing and valuing variations.
  • Tracking design changes as a project evolves.
  • Establish, maintain and enhance effective working relationships with subcontractors, site staff and Client.
  • Attend site meetings as required.

 

Requirements

  • A third level qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others.
  • Keen eye for QS matters with a strong interest in career progression.
  • IT skills – knowledge of Microsoft software & cubit an advantage.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Good level and understanding of Construction Technology principles & details.
  • The ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent numeracy and computer skills.
  • Professional presence, dress and demeanour.
