Historic Cathal Brugha Street College Transformation Nears Completion

Murcom are in the final stages of transforming the former DIT Cathal Brugha Street Catering College into a new 8-classroom primary school, complete with GP hall, learning support rooms, and administrative areas — all on track for handover at the end of November.

This listed building’s character is unmistakable: original parquet and terrazzo flooring, detailed timber panelling, and 1940s craftsmanship. These heritage elements are being meticulously restored, while modern design features bring a fresh, dynamic learning environment to life.

This project exemplifies Murcom’s core strengths — the ability to sensitively restore historic buildings while delivering contemporary, high-quality spaces for modern use.

A huge effort by all involved to keep this complex, live-city-centre project on track for completion over the next few weeks.
