DCU All Hallows Roof Restoration

Overview

The restoration of the roof and internal ceilings was carried out on Senior House where rain had caused extensive damage to the original fabric. The lean-to roof was completely stripped, with original roof timbers repaired, 100mm Gutex Thermosafe Homogen insulation fitted along with vapour barrier, double battens and newly procured blue Bangor slates. We also carried out repairs to the stone masonry, fitted new lead flashings, supplied & fitted new cast-iron rain water goods. Internally the ceilings were replaced with like for like and re-decorated along with the exposed timber trusses. On the upper roof slopes, the standing seam lead roof finish was replaced, chimney stacks repaired and repointed and rooflights replaced. The scaffolding work for the high level roof works was extensive and required a temporary works design due to the complexity and overall height.
